Re: Vic High performance March 3
Hi Kinnie, I’m the teacher who got up and ‘freestyled’ at your Vic High apperance. I just wanted to say thanks for the opportunity to connect with students in that way; I didn’t say thanks or even look at you when I was finished as I was so shit scared I just needed to get out of the room, but there it is.
There was so much that was good about your performance at Vic High, not the least of which is that we have a sizable ‘half breed’ population, and yours is not a message we hear very often. Your ability to get students moving and dancing was fantastic, that kind of thing is what we need so much. I heard a lot of good things from students after the performance, I think your efforts there were very much appreciated by all.

Kinnie Starr has performed at over 80 schools throughout BC since 2007. She has toured globally for 15 years as an original song writer and has an extensive body of published work with Ole Publishing Canada/USA. She speaks french, spanish and english, is of mixed Mohawk/European ancestry and is an arts activist/illustrator with a published book of her drawings and poetry entitled “How I Learned To Run”.
